FISHING TECHNIQUES AND SPECIES

We cater for a variety of fishing techniques: Popping, Jigging, Trolling, Bottom fishing. Most anglers that come to the Maldives are popping for Giant Trevally. But you can catch species like Bohar Snappers, Dogtooth and Yellowfin Tuna, Groupers and even Sharks on topwater lures like poppers and stickbaits. Jigging is the method of choice mainly for Dogtooth and Yellowfin Tuna. We troll for Wahoo, Sailfish and Marlin. Bottom fishing, especially at night time after dinner, is good for a great variety of species.

The fishing season for most species is year round. Only the pelagic migratory fish like Sailfish and Yellowfin Tuna are present at different times of the year depending on the species. Please let us know at the time of booking what type of fishing you are after. We do not provide or rent fishing equipment, so please bring your own tackle.

PEARLWIN LIVEABOARD CHARTERS

MV PearlWin is a 65’ saltwater fishing vessel that was restored in 2010 and specifically designed for the requirements of professional sport fishing! On board, you’ll find 3 sleeping rooms that can accommodate up to 8 guests. Each room has individually adjustable air conditioning and a private bathroom with toilet. The vessel has a lounge area which is equipped with a television and entertainment sound system and an indoor dining area. MV Pearlwin has desalination plant, silent generators, first-class navigational and safety gear.

MV Pearlwin is available for your private liveaboard fishing trip, alone or bundled with Pearlwin Fisher. We recommend group sizes from 4 to 8 anglers. The minimum charter is 3 consecutive days. We are happy to pick you all up at Male airport where you can board directly. If you stay at one of the resorts in North or South Male atoll prior to your fishing trip, we can also pick you up at your resort.

On short trips with less than 4 days, we will take you fishing in the North and South Male atolls. To visit more remote places several days are necessary, depending on the distance. We would be pleased to discuss your personal wishes, the appropriate options and the corresponding charter fees with you.

PEARLWIN FISHER CHARTERS

The Pearlwin Fisher, a purpose built and truly functional speed boat for fishing. Powered by two 200hp engines, this speed boat has an oversized fishing platform at the front of the boat for casting and jigging. With its speed and range, it expands the fishing area and increases catch rates on your fishing trip.

Pearlwin Fisher can be chartered independently from MV Pearlwin, provided that you spend your holiday in a resort in the North or South Male atolls or in the Lhaviyani atoll. If you don't want to go on a resort holiday, we can arrange very affordable Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Lhaviyani for you. Pearlwin Fisher is perfect for your group of up to 4 anglers. The minimum charter is 3 consecutive days with 8 hours fishing per day trip.

Pearlwin Maldive Adventures was born in 2008 as a result of a deep passion and love for the ocean. After many years of visiting this ocean paradise, we decided to provide fellow fishermen with an opportunity to experience the Maldives on a live-aboard.
